Sandy Lam
Sandy Lam, also known as Lam Yik Lin is a Cantopop singer who sings in Cantonese, Mandarin, English, and Japanese.
Hong Kong pop diva Sandy Lam promises to party the night away with her fans at her “Sandy Lam 09 Live in KL” concert on Nov 28. The KL concert marks the final stop for her world tour that began last year.
Sandy Lam rose to fame in Hong Kong in the mid 80s with a string of up-tempo Japanese style songs. She then transformed herself into a serious, progressive artist with the cosmopolitan “City-Rhythm” R&B album series.
Lam returned to the music scene with a hit single “?????” (At Least I’ve Got You) from her first album with Virgin in 2000. It was on the KTV Music Chart for 8 months.
Lam has won many awards in the course of her career, including Best Regional Performing Female Artist, Best Album, Best Female Vocalist, the Asia Pacific Most Outstanding Female Artist, and an honorary Music Award for her contributions to the music industry.
Sandy is now working on her 14th Cantonese album.
Lam married Taiwanese singer-songwriter and producer Jonathan Lee in 1998, but the pair divorced in 2004. Together, they have a daughter Li Xi Er (???), whom Sandy gave birth on May 17, 1998.
The year after the divorce, she was in a relationship with Chan Fai Hung, an employee for Gold Label Records until July 2006, citing her demanding schedules after her triumphant return to the Hong Kong entertainment circle.
After her break-up, she returned to single life.
