By now the media frenzy has pacified a little on the star duo marriage. Hong Kong power couple Tony Leung and Carina Lau, 46 and 42 years old respectively, wanting to escape the paparazzi, got married in Bhutan last Monday They have released a couple of wedding photos (view below) where they are seen in traditional Chinese red marriage gown and a modern stunning white outfits, happily posing behind the backdrop of Bhutan royalty monuments and buildings The wedding presided over by local monks, was held at Uma Paro hotel where the security was extremely tight. Even the 80 or so guest mainly celebrities, close friends and families had to get through them with identification verification. Albeit that the couple didn’t forget the media people on the outside and handed out cakes & champagne to them
The hotel is owned by Singapore hotelier Christina Ong’s, a friend of the couple. The couple has booked all the 29 rooms of the resort from 16-24th July just for the wedding This day however nearly never came to light as the long time couple last year was going through a bad patch. At that point of time, it is reported Carina was linked to Taiwanese tycoon Terry Gou. If not for the intervention of friend Hong Kong singer Faye Wong, separation was on the cards During the ceremony, the couple cried as the Tibetan Buddhist leader who was their guest, spoke words that moved them. Award-winning film director Wong Kar-Wai was in charge of planning the wedding, costume designer William Chang dressed Carina, while Faye Wong will appropriately perform for the newly married couple. Congratulations to Tony Leung and Carina Lau
