On last Sunday on a normal church day at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, a black-clad gunman walked into the church and started a shooting spree at the 10,000-plus member

The gunmen identified as 24-year-old Matthew Murray killed two sisters and injuring five and the death toll could be more if not for Jeanne Assam

She was the armed volunteer for that day at New Life Church.

A former police officer and is a member of New Life Church, Jeanne took cover when Matthew started shooting and confronted him when the opportunity arises.

She shot and killed the gunman

In the day of new terrorism and killing spree, churches such as New Life Church are beefing up their security in recent years, even using armed guards to protect the faithful.
