Charlie’s Angel Farrah Fawcett who is struggling with anal cancer, and is reported is in the last stages of her cancer, has spoken to the media on her recent battle with her illness.
Her illness returned after being 2 years being declared cancer free on her 60th birthday. The 62 year old Farrah Fawcett was quoted, “It’s much easier to go through something and deal with it without being under a microscope. It was stressful. I was terrified getting the chemo. It’s not pleasant. And the radiation is not pleasant. To think that people who did look up to me and felt positive because I was going through it too and yet I was strong, it (tabloids false claims) just negated all that. I’m a private person. I’m shy about people knowing things. And I’m really shy about my medical. It would be good if I could just go and heal and then when I decided to go out, it would be OK.”
Fawcett was referring to her UCLA California medical center treatment where one of the specialist there was leaking information to the press about her condition.
The specialist who was caught, later quit and pleaded guilty to a felony charge of violating federal medical privacy laws. She has also slammed the tabloids for reporting false claims.
Currently Fawcett treatment had pretty much ended and that she now spends her days at home, often asleep.
Her son reported that her weight was down to 86 pounds.
Being critically ill, Fawcett 91-year-old father was being flown out to visit with his ailing daughter.
Ryan O’Neal, long-time partner of Fawcett said she wrote him a note which read, “I’ve lived a full and wonderful life. I’ve loved and been loved. I’m happy. I’m ready.”
That’s just the saddest thing I’ve heard. A two-hour documentary, Farrah’s Story, shot by Fawcett and her friend Alana Stewart about her battle with the disease, will air on NBC on May 15, 2009. Do watch it people.
