The original trailer back in 1985 … brings back good old memories

70’s lovechild like me who experienced the unique 80’s will know what this entry is all about. The Goonies was a movie back in the 80’s and was hugely popular and a hit with everyone

It’s about a bunch of kids from the “Goon Docks” neighborhood on a mission to save their homes by finding a legendary 17th century pirate treasure. It was written from a screenplay by Chris Columbus with the original story by Steven Spielberg

And now Hollywood wants to make a sequel out of it called “Goonies 2″

I don’t know if I should be happy or sad. Well some ‘classic’ movies are just not made for a remake. We all know what happens to some of them, it bombed and the legacy of the movie became crap

The thing about classic 80’s movies, the fashion, style, music, the talk are all unique to that era. So bringing that back into a new ‘future’ on the screen might just not rub off on the old and new movie-goers

Why does Hollywood always want to do a remake of great iconic movies of yesteryears. Is there no more originality in Hollywood. Current Warner Brothers are pushing the sequel as a big-budget blockbuster and a team of writers are currently being ensemble

Some of the actors from the old Goonies movie will be involved, although no detail confirmation who is it. I just hope it will be good
