Well the Olympics are here, and our blog is in games frenzy mode as we try to catch as much live action from Beijing. It’s so cool and awe inspiring to see the top elite athletes in action.

The sacrifices made to get there is already rewarding enough. Well here’s a couple of Olympic spirit type of movies you should catch if you’re in the Olympics mood

Cool Runnings (1993)

Based on the true story of the First Jamacian bobsled team trying to make it to the winter olympics

Prefontaine (1997)

Based on the life of Olympic hopeful Steve Prefontaine, a long distance runner who lived in Oregon and died young

Miracle (2004)

Miracle tells the true story of Herb Brooks (Russell), the player-turned-coach who led the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team to victory over the seemingly invincible Russian squad

Running Brave (1983)

This is the true story of a man’s triumph over prejudice, pain and himself. Billy Mills, a North American Indian brought up on the reservation, destined against all odds to become the best distance runner in the world

Without Limits (1998)

The film follows the life of famous 1970s runner Steve Prefontaine from his youth days in Oregon to the University of Oregon where he worked with the legendary coach Bill Bowerman, later to Olympics in Munich and his early death at 24 in a car crash

Chariots of Fire (1981)

The story of two British track athletes, one a determined Jew, and the other a devout Christian who compete in the 1924 Olympics.
