President Obama promises his kids a dog if he gets elected into the White House during one of his campaign promises, and indeed he fulfilled it when he presented his daughters Sasha and Malia a puppy.
His name is Bo, a 6-month-old Portuguese water dog and this is the first family official first pet.
The girls chose the name after their grandfather, Michelle Obama’s father, Bo Diddley.
The dog is from a Texas kennel where he was ‘re-homed’ after being returned to the kennel by a previous owner who decided he could not care for the dog.
