John Robert Marzano former Major League Baseball player and popular sports host, died unexpectedly after falling down a flight of stairs on April 19th 2008

John from 1987 to 1998 played for the Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers, and Seattle Mariners as a backup catcher

His sports host duties ranges from being a guest of Phillies Post Game Live on Comcast Sportsnet to co-hosting a show with Rob Charry on Saturdays

His last public appearance was on At&T Daily News Live last Thursday

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and two granddaughters
